Brantford, Ontario set to ban shark fin

Landlocked Brantford, Ont., wants to become the first Canadian municipality to ban shark fin — a controversial ingredient used in some Asian cooking.

“This is a serious ecological issue,” said former Ontario provincial legislature member Phil Gillies, who now works as a consultant with the international environment group WildAid. “Some species of shark are threatened with extinction in 12 to 15 years. The threat of shark extinction would have serious implications for mankind.”

This is really a serious issue. For me this ban should be implemented all over the world. Thinking of the damage it can cause to our nature and to the future generation then its best to act now.
